Wooden Christmas Peg Puzzles Set

A peg puzzle is the simplest kind of puzzle: one piece, one hole, one shape to match. Here the shapes are festive figures, so the game doubles as a chat about the season while your child works.

How a Christmas peg puzzle is played

Lift all the pieces out and lay them on the table beside the board. Your child picks one up by its knob, looks for the matching outline, then turns the piece until it drops in. A wrong angle simply does not fit, so the board shows the answer without any help from you.

To start, leave just one or two pieces out and keep the others in place. Once that feels easy, take everything out at once, or mix the pieces of two boards from the set of three and sort them back to the right frame.

What the peg knobs bring

Holding a small knob between thumb and fingers is the same pinch later used for a pencil. Turning a piece to fit trains the eye to compare outlines, and naming each figure out loud adds new words to the game.

A seasonal gift that lasts

Bring the boards out with the decorations and put them away again in January: a puzzle that only appears at Christmas feels new each year. Between wrapping paper and visitors, a board of Christmas figures on a quiet corner of the table gives your child a calm task of their own, the same kind of simple, self-checking work you will find in our wooden Montessori toys.
